Kenyas inflation lowest since 2013

Kenya’s inflation is at its lowest since June 2013.

According to data published by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, the rate of inflation now stands at 5.3 per cent in April, from 6.6 per cent in March, falling safely within the government’s target of 2.5 per cent to 7.5 per cent.

Inflation in Kenya is based on expenditures of homes in food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing, water, electricity, fuel and transport among others.

The fall in the rate of inflation could lead to a drop in the cost of living and spike both domestic and foreign investment in the country.
