What Man City footballer Yaya Toure said about Kenyans

Celebrated Manchester City footballer Yaya Toure has praised Kenya’s victories at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Beijing, China.

Shortly after Kenya clinched her 6th gold medal at the international fete, Toure celebrated the country’s success and love of sports.

Toure visited Kenya in June, and he spoke about a range of issues including poaching.

The Ivory Coast midfielder is currently serving as an Airtel Africa’s Brand ambassador, and this was announced in June 2015.

Speaking at the launch of the campaign in Kenya, Airtel Africa CEO Christian de Faria said they chose to partner with Toure because he is an inspiration.

“We are excited to be signing the pact with Touré who is respected in Africa and beyond. As the first player to win African Player of the Year four consecutive times, Touré is an inspiration to everyone working to achieve their potential and striving to be their best every day,” de Faria said.

He has played for several top European clubs including Olympiacos, Monaco, and Barcelona.
