Government now employs the services of civil servants to push for a 'Yes' vote in the referendum.

dear sir/madam,

Am worried that the positioning of the referendum date in mid-week (wednesday next week)may reduce the turn-up. I have examples of persons who registered as voters upcountry but are unlikely to vote due to the time constraints involved in travelling upcountry and back the same day as they are in school or working in nairobi. This being such a monumental national event, I would request the government to consider allowing a public holiday on thursday 5th Aug 2010 to allow all persons adequate opportunity to vote.
Thanks a lot for your consideration
