18-year-old first time mom delivers triplets

An 18-year-old first-time mother in Narok County is elated after she delivered healthy triplets at the Narok referral Hospital on Wednesday.

“She came in yesterday (Wednesday) and had a smooth delivery of triplets, this despite the fact that she is a first time mother,” said a medic at the hospital.

Speaking at the hospital on Thursday, Ms Osono’s husband expressed his joy for the delivery saying: “My wife has delivered three boys at a go, I am very happy. It is a blessing.”

Ms Osono also expressed her gratitude saying: “I came here and delivered three boys and I thank God for this gift.”

According to the medics at the hospital, the three were born underweight and must remain under observation till they attain 2kgs.

“They are not yet 2kgs so they must remain in the nursery for the next three weeks so they can be fed till they attain the weight,” she said.

The family however noted that they could not manage the enormous responsibility that comes with raising triplets since none of their members are employed.

They are now appealing to well wishers to come to their aid.
