19 hospitalized after being attacked by stray dogs

19 people are undergoing treatment in various health facilities in Chepalungu, Bomet after being attacked by stray dogs.

Longisa County Referral Hospital medical superintendent Dr.Ronald Kibet said that one of the patients is admitted with serious open wounds at Longisa Hospital while others are undergoing anti rabies medication at Sigor Health Center and Siongiroi Dispensary.

He said that the patients were responding well to medication, though some of the cases were not reported on time.

Following the incident, Siongiroi Ward Member of the County Assembly urged the county administration to kill all the stray dogs within Bomet.

Last year Elizabeth Claire Wright, a 55-year-old reportedly died after she was attacked by stray dogs in her home in Watamu Village, Kilifi county.
