Comedian Mzee Ojwang is dead

Veteran TV comedian Benson Wanjau alias Mzee Ojwang is dead.

Mzee Ojwang passed away on Sunday evening while undergoing treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

According to reports, Mzee Ojwang succumbed to pneumonia while undergoing treatment at Kenya’s leading public referral hospital.

The celebrated comedian was first admitted at the Loresho Hospital in mid-March after a prolonged eye ailment.

On March 10^th this year, the Vitimbi crew led by Mama Kayai paid Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko a visit at his office to solicit for aid in taking the ailing comedian to hospital.

From a post on Sonko’s official Facebook page, the flaboyant Nairobi Senator said: “They came bearing some very sad news that Mzee Ojwang’ was unwell with partial blindness.”

His illness saw the government step in and pay for his medical fee with the Information Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi saying that the government would address the welfare of the Vitimbi crew.
