Court issues warrant of arrest against Interior PS Karanja Kibicho

The High Court in Nairobi has issued a warrant of arrest against Interior and Coordination of National Government PS Karanja Kibicho for disobeying a court order.

The court, before Justice George Odunga, said that this follows failure by the PS to show up to explain why stringent action should not be taken against him for contempt of court.

The ruling was in line with a 2013 case where the Ministry was ordered to pay Ksh 350,000 in damages and compensation to a wrongful torture and detention victim; Joshua Mutua Paul.

Mutua filed the case against the PS saying he did not comply with the court order since he has not received the entire amount.

The case will be mentioned on 30th March 2016.
