Embu leaders challenged to work in unity

Leaders from Embu County have been challenged to embrace unity and peace so as to promote a good working relationship between the county and the national governments and ease service delivery to the mwananchi.

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has called for peace at all levels of leadership so as to enable them deliver their mandate to the electorate.

He noted that continued disagreements especially among county leaders have derailed the country’s development agenda.

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki took issue with a section of men she accused of acting as barriers to women who want to ascend to power through competitive processes.

She challenged Kenyans to embrace women leadership and responsibilities given to them at different levels of power in the country. She asked Kenyans not to judge women on basis of marriage and instead change their attitude towards them.

She told leaders to stop fighting women who express willingness to work and develop their counties on basis of marriage or birth.
