The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops on Wednesday foiled an attempted terror attack in Milimani area near Baure in Lamu County.

The troops, under the Operation Linda Boni, are reported to have repulsed Al Shabaab terrorists and had been in hot pursuit of the terrorists after they conducted a probing attack on a KDF camp in Mangai, Lamu on Tuesday evening.

In a statement to the media, Colonel D.O. Obonyo confirmed that four Al Shabaab militants were killed and one KDF soldier injured during the incident.

The KDF troops also recovered a Rocket Propelled Grenade, two hand grenades, four AK47 rifles and one unexploded Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

“The Kenya Defence Forces wishes to to assure the public that operations against the Al Shabaab will continue, until all the terrorists are eliminated to ensure that the locals continue to enjoy peace and security,” read the statement.
