Ikolomani MP Shinali to leave for U.S. to ascertain cause of sons death in Arizona

Member of Parliament for Ikolomani Constituency Benard Shinali has lost his first born son.

35-year-old Chris Atema died in Arizona where he was serving in the United States Marine Corps.

Reports indicate that he died on Friday, July 26, 2019 while trying to rescue a teenage girl of Canadian decent after she started drowning in a swimming pool.

The family is yet to confirm what exactly happened but said that they are making travel plans to go to the U.S. and ascertain the cause of death with the help of investigators.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Robert Avisi who is the MP’s elder brother urged residents to respect their privacy during this trying time.

“The public will be briefed once the family is sure of what happened,” Avisi said.

Atema leaves behind an expectant wife and two children.
