Ill prioritize tourism, says CCMs John Magufuli

Chama Cha Mapinduzi’s presidential hopeful,  Dr. John Pombe Magufuli, has promised to give the first priority to Tanzanian tourism sector in order to spur development of the national economy and eradicate overcome unemployment.

Addressing a campaign rally in Arusha, Dr. Magufuli said that the main goals of his government were to increase the number of tourists up to two million.

This influx, Magufuli argues, is something which will lead to the economic development for each citizen.

Addressing Karatu residents, the CCM luminary said that having a female running mate, Samia Suluhu Hassan, will help his government to highly consider implementation of the gender issues.

As the contest for the presidential seat hots up, Magufuli said that inclusivity is top on his agenda. He said that he will focus on equipping youth and women with necessary skills jobs and allocating necessary resources to them.

Dr. Magufuli is described as Tinga, meaning a tractor. This is associated to his record performance while serving as the Minister for Roads and Infrastructure under the leadership of President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete.

Magufuli has been credited with the growth of road networks in the country and setting policies that have governed and regulated infrastructural development.

During the launch of his presidential campaign at Jangwani Grounds, Magufuli promised to intentionally shape the country’s future saying that many things had been left to fate.

The key highlights of the promises he made included changing the country’s education system to make it more competitive globally.

Magufuli further noted that to improve the quality of education, the welfare of the teachers had to be taken care of despite economic challenges that were facing Tanzania.

In addition to education, he also touched on the emotive issue of the welfare of the country’s security organs saying that police officers and the military, among other security agents, must be properly remunerated if they are to achieve the objectives of their work.

Now in the home stretch, the presidential elections have intensified with the main candidates working tirelessly to outwit each other.

The polls are set to be conducted on the October 25th 2015, and this will see the election of member of parliaments, ward councilors and president.
