Increase mentorship programmes, Ruto to leaders

Deputy President William Ruto says there is need to carry out more mentorship programmes among the youth in schools to address the increasing cases of students’ unrest.

According to the Deputy President, mentorship programmes will help restore discipline, hard work and dignity among the youth.

“The Government recognizes the vital role played by dedicated individuals who volunteer their time to mentor young people in the country,” said Ruto.

He says a focused intervention program for high-risk children who are engaging in anti-social behaviors is critical for the development of the youth.

“Cases of students burning schools dormitories because of indiscipline needs mentoring programmes so that they can know what is good and bad for the society,” he stated.

The Deputy President was speaking when he hosted the Kubamba Television Crew at his Karen office in Nairobi.
