Kisumu County denies receiving bribes to offer employment

Kisumu County Public Service Board has denied claims of corruption made by Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga as quoted in one of the local dailies.

Addressing the press in Kisumu on Thursday, the Board chairman, Eng. Wilson Oguya, said the board has strived to carry out its functions above board without engaging in corrupt dealings and that the allegations leveled against them were malicious and aimed at tarnishing the name of the County Government of Kisumu.

Oguya added that academic and experiential qualifications have been the hallmark of the recruitment exercise and nobody has been employed in the county courtesy of corruption.

“Those who have applied for jobs have been put in a proper test with no discrimination or favor,” said Oguya.

According to him, the board is guided by the Constitution of Kenyan 2010 and cannot engage in criminality.
