Man commits suicide over cow money

A 63-year-old man is said to have committed suicide after his wife allegedly stole the money he had gotten from the sale of his cow.

Albert Njue is said to have sold the cow a tune of Ksh 45,000, but he was shocked to find the money missing and his wife had left the home.

Neighbors found Njue’s body in his house in Kang’ethiri village, Embu East Sub County. He had hung himself.

Residents say that the couple has been having domestic squabbles that have seen the wife leave the family home several times.

Embu North OCPD Njoroge Mbugua confirmed the death, adding that police have launched investigations into the suicide.

Njoroge called upon the residents to result to counseling rather than committing suicide since all issues can be resolved.

The body of the deceased was moved to Runyenjes level four mortuary.
