Man shot dead, wife, children burnt inside their house in Nyamira

According to the area assistant chief Hezron Ongaro, a group of armed men – allegedly dressed in police uniform – raided Geoffrey Kamonde’s home at midnight, broke into the children’s house and ordered them to have their father open the door.

Kamonde refused to open the door prompting the gang to shoot him through the bedroom window.

They later smashed the door and gained entry to the house,  ransacked the room before  ordering his wife to give them money.

They later tied the wife and two children with a mattress and set them on fire.

Kamonde’s wife, Jemimah Kamonde, succumbed to injuries while the children are admitted at the Kisii Level Five Hospital in critical condition.

The assistant chief described the family as polite and  humble.
