Military officer found dead in Nakuru

A military officer in the rank of a Major and attached to Lanet Barracks was Wednesday morning found dead in Kiamunyi estate, Nakuru County.

The body of Ben Sabaya ole Sololo was found in a manhole at Zaburi Trading Centre along the Nakuru- Kabarak Road.

Area Chief Wilson Maraga said the cause of death is still unknown.

Maraga said that the officer was on leave after returning from Somalia recently.

He reportedly left home at 7.30pm on Tuesday but did not return.

Family members identified the body before police removed it to the Nakuru County Government mortuary.

Neighbours described the deceased as a good man who mingled with people freely.

His body had no injuries although there were blood spots inside the manhole his body was found in.

Police have launched investigations into the incident.
