MP wants grabbed Kisii Police Station land reclaimed

Kitutu Chache South Member of Parliament Richard Onyonka has challenged the National Government through the National Land Commission (NLC) to reclaim Kisii Police Station’s land which was allegedly grabbed by a private developer.

Speaking in Kisii, Onyonka challenged NLC to investigate the matter to give room for development adding that the construction of houses which was to be done on the particular piece of land were taken to Keroka and Nyamira since the piece of land has issues from individuals who claimed to be the owners.

He said police officers in Kisii Town need good houses and better offices but some individuals, who are claiming to own the land, have caused the project to stall after grabbing the land thereby forcing the government to move the same to Keroka and Nyamira.

In addition, he said that the police land should be in the report of the lands’ commission which concluded their public hearings in Kisii a few days ago.
