MPs involved in a road accident

Two Members of Parliament escaped death by a whisker after the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in an accident at Annex area along the busy Nakuru – Eldoret Highway.

Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka and his Kwanza counterpart Ferdinand Wanyonyi were part of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture member’s convoy returning to Eldoret after visiting the Ngeria fertilizer factory and several maize plantations affected by head smut disease.

According to eye witnesses, the driver of the vehicle carrying the MPs lost control while trying to avoid a head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle causing it to roll several times.

Wanyonyi suffered minor injuries on one leg and was rushed to Eldoret Memorial Hospital for treatment while his Machakos counterpart escaped unscathed.
