ODM denies claims of favouritism in grassroots elections

The Orange Democratic Movement’s (ODM) Alego-Usonga Sub-Branch office has dismissed claims that a list of preferred party officials has already been made in the region ahead of the party’s grassroots elections next month.

According to the sub-branch secretary, George Adeya, the said list does not exist.

Adeya noted that elections in the sub-county branch will go on as planned and ODM members will be given a chance to elect their leaders who will unite the party at the grassroots level.

ODM grassroots elections are set to take place from September 30, 2015 to October 3, 2015 in Siaya County.

Adeya encouraged those eying party positions to come out and contest.

ODM grassroots elections have in the past been marred by claims of favoritism and election malpractices.
