Peter Munya retains Council of Governors chair post

Meru Governor Peter Munya has been re-elected chairman of the Council of Governors.
Munya was re-elected unopposed during elections held at the council’s headquarters in Nairobi’s Westlands area Friday afternoon.
He took over the chairmanship one year ago from Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.
Taita Taveta Governor John Mrutu was elected the Vice Chair of the Council to replace Kwale’s Salim Mvurya who has served two full terms.
Marsabit Governor Ukur Yattani retained his position as Chief Whip of the Council.
