Pope Francis concludes three-day tour of Kenya

Pope Francis ended his three day state visit to Kenya Friday evening, departing for Uganda.

He left the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi for Entebbe International Airport, Uganda shortly after 4PM.

He was seen off by President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto, First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, and the Chief of Defence Forces Samson Mwathethe among other top ranking government officials.

Once in Entebbe, the Pope will meet Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and other government officials.

During his three-day visit in Kenya, the Pope spoke passionately against tribalism, corruption and asked society to look into the needs of the poor.

Pope Francis called for inclusivity in the distribution of wealth and state appointments.

The Pope castigated the government for unequal distribution of resources that has left many people languishing in poverty.

He emphasized on the need for the government to focus on providing land, lodging and labour for its citizens as part of their social responsibility.

Pope Francis challenged Kenyan leaders to shun corruption saying that what is acquired through corrupt means lives to haunt those involved and their families.

He called on the youth, whom he said are the most vulnerable to corruption, to avoid it at all cost.

This was the third Papal visit to Kenya.
