President Kenyatta assures of equitable development in all regions

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday met leaders from five Maa-speaking counties where implementation of campaign pledges by the Government topped the agenda.

President Kenyatta affirmed Government’s commitment to equitable development in all regions regardless of political affiliations.

President Kenyatta, who met the leaders at State House Nairobi, said all Kenyans are entitled to quality service by both the national and county governments.

The leaders from Samburu, Narok, Kajiado, Laikipia and Marsabit counties presented the President with a memorandum through Kajiado Senator Eng. Peter Ole Mositet.

In the memorandum, the leaders who included members of parliament and senators identified priority development projects which they wanted the national government to implement.

The leaders singled out the construction of mega dams and water pans as some of the priority projects in the semi-arid counties to ease conflicts prompted by scarce resources.

The leaders thanked the President for giving them a hearing and resolved to work with the government to realize its development agenda.

The meeting was attended by Internal Security Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery and leader of Majority in Parliament Aden Duale.
