Rongo police probing teacher accused of defiling pupil

Police in Rongo, Migori County have launched investigations into an incident where a 13 year old pupil from Kitere primary school was allegedly defiled by a teacher.

The incident that is said to have happened in May during the holidays saw irate villagers storm the school threatening to eject the school head teacher Mr John Omollo for failing to take action against the teacher.

The exasperated school management and villagers say the head teacher has been quiet about the defilement cases and he must now vacate the school.

On his part, the school head teacher said that the alleged incident happened while he was away but he has been following the matter after he was briefed by one of his staff.

Rongo District Children Officer Mr Fredrick Nyatiji also adds that the department is following the matter and they are calling upon the CID department to speedily investigate the case

Police in Rongo also say that they are determined to unearth the truth and will do so in due course.
