Ruto warns Nakuru against joining Mashinani Party

Nakuru Deputy Governor, Joseph Ruto, has cautioned residents against joining the Mashinani Party of Kenya which is headed by Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.

Speaking on Monday in his office shortly after his arrival from a four-day tour of neighbouring country of Tanzania, Ruto said that Mashinani Party is not development-oriented and its aim is to divide the residents on tribal lines.

He also said that the party is playing divisive politics that will destabilize the country if not tamed at early stages.

“We all know the party is aligned to CORD and is supporting the opposition leader Raila Odinga and at no point will it unite the people. Let us not be misled by selfish politicians,” said Ruto.

According the Deputy Governor, the Bomet Governor is just trying to sabotage Deputy President William Ruto and destroy the reputation of the Jubilee administration.

He added that the supremacy battle between the Deputy President and the Bomet Governor will be ended by the voters who will decide the way forward, expressing optimism that they will support the ruling coalition.

This comes just a day after Governor Ruto, accompanied by Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno and his Kuresoi South counterpart Zakayo Cheruiyot, appealed to the residents of Nakuru to rally behind the Mashinani Party accusing the Jjubilee administration of plunging the country into a debt crisis.
