Security operation underway in Tana Delta

Security forces in Tana Delta Sub-County, Tana River County have launched a security operation following reports that some suspected terror elements were spotted in the area.

According to Tana Delta Deputy County Commissioner Mike Kimoko, the ongoing operation involves various security agencies and departments, including the Kenya Defence Forces.

Kimoko said the security apparatus will not take chances over reports of suspected terrorists sightings, further assuring members of the public of their safety.

The county official however urged area residents to volunteer information to security officers to help in the fight against terror following previous attacks.
