Stop wasting time and go home, Mudavadi to IEBC

Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi on Saturday advised Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials to resign promptly, adding they are wasting time by clinging on to the commissioner seats.

Speaking at a funeral service in Mbale town, Vihiga County, the presidential hopeful insisted that IEBC commissioners must step aside because Kenyans need a poll body that they can trust to run free and fair elections come 2017.

Using Britain’s exit from the European Union (EU) as an example, the one-time Vice President said that Kenya needs to have credible and transparent polls.

Telling Ababu to make an about-turn

Honorable Musalia also urged Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Secretary General Ababu Namwamba to cross over to his party, claiming Ababu lacks peace in ODM.

Telling the Bundalangi legislator that “East-West home is best”, Mudavadi urged Namwamba to join ANC.

Mudavadi finally urged locals to vote wisely in the next General Elections.

His statement come amid continuous calls for resignations within the IEBC – calls that were championed by the Opposition.

Led by Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, members of the opposition and their supporters have held a series of demonstrations against the IEBC, insisting that the poll body has cannot be trusted with the 2017 General Elections.
