Student brutally murdered in Nyamira

A somber mood has engulfed Egentubi area in Nyamira after residents woke up to find the mutilated body of a 23-year-old student next to the road.

Confirming the incident, Nyamira OCPD Rico Ngare said the deceased, Joel Angwenyi Michieka, who was a student at Kenya Technical Training Institute, had left his home on Tuesday for Kebirigo town to run an errand but he never returned until Wednesday when his body was discovered in the area.

Ngare said that the grave injuries on his body suggest he was brutally murdered, adding that police have launched investigations into the incident.

The body of the deceased was taken to the mortuary of Nyamira Level Five Hospital.
