Waititu defends his education qualifications

Kabete Member of Parliament Ferdinand Waititu has defended himself against allegations that he fraudulently acquired a degree certificate from Punjab University in India.

Waititu further clarified why he changed his names saying: “I would like everyone to know that my mother separated from my father for 12 years. I was brought up by a single mother and I was using my grandmother’s name at that time. When they reunited I started using my father’s name,” he explained.

This comes after Kiambu Governor William Kabogo filed a case against Waititu questioning the credibility of the documents presented to the IEBC during the 2013 General Elections.

“My names are proper, my certificates are proper, both names Ferdinand and Clifford are mine and I am using them officially. I will come with over 50 classmates from primary, secondary and the polytechnic that I attended,” the Kabete MP said.

He further sounded a warning to William Kabogo saying that he should expect much more from him on the corridors of Justice.

“I want to tell Kabogo that he should expect what he has done to me to happen to him. He has taken me to court and I don’t fear being in court, we shall be with him court,” he said.

Waititu was speaking to residents of Kimunchu in Thika Constituency.

The standoff between the two political bigwigs stems from the race for the Kiambu Gubernatorial seat in next year’s General Election where both will be vying for the seat.
