War of words as Bomet Governor slams DP Ruto

A war of words has erupted once again in the Rift Valley between Deputy President William Ruto and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, with the Bomet Governor accusing the DP of undermining Rift Valley leaders.

While they have resorted to throwing barbs at each other over their leadership and priorities, it is the larger supremacy battle over just who is the Rift Valley kingpin

A week ago, the DP was in Bomet and he tore into its governor’s leadership style. Today, the governor has replied, deepening the rift in the valley.

“The President has his work and so does his deputy. Now someone (Ruto) wants me to follow him, wherever he goes. Do your work, and stop this foolishness! I have no business following him as he launches a road that President Uhuru Kenyatta lunches on the other side,” the Governor said.

Issac Ruto’s remarks were echoed by Kuresoi MP Zakayo Cheruiyot and Emurrua Dikirr MP Johanna Ngeno. The leaders insist they will not join Jubilee and will not support its ideals, instead, drumming up support for their Chama Cha Mashinani, as the 2017 re-alignment continues to dominate the political space.
