Tusker FC midfielder Fabian Adikiny has expressed satisfaction with the progress he has made since joining the Ruaraka-side based club from Murang’a SEAL during last transfer window.

Adikiny has described his time at St. Sebastian Park as successful and thanked the Murang’a SEAL technical bench for believing in him an opportunity to showcase his talent.

"SEAL was my home since 2017. I have enjoyed playing there. And I can't thank the club enough for the platform they gave me for close to six years," he expressed gratitude.

The Brewers’ tactician Robert Matano signed Adikiny as a replacement for Humphrey Mieno, who left the thirteen-time Kenyan Champions to join Sofapaka on a free transfer.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the former Kapenguria Boys High School product has said he has enjoyed his debut season with Tusker FC, despite featuring twice for his new employers this season.

“I have had good time here, and in the matches, I have featured in this season I have played as a no. 10 where I have combined well with {striker} Erick Kapaito.

“This season I have learnt about the importance of teamwork in my growth as a player, considering I have managed to play as both defensive and attacking midfielder due to my versatility” he added.

Despite facing challenges of breaking into the first team, the 23-year-old says hard work and patience is going to pay-off soon.

“As a footballer, you always have to adapt to any new situation and it hasn’t been easy here, in the Premier League you have to change your mentality. At Tusker you must have a winning mentality for you to make it, though, I have been able to do well on that front,” he affirmed

Adikiny’s deep desire this season was to win a double with Tusker but after FKF Cup exit, Matano charges are having only the league to compete in, though it seems out of reach. According to the former Muhoroni Youth player, the momentum the team has at the moment can spill over to next season and he is hopeful Tusker will deliver League title to Ruaraka.

“I hoped we would win FKF Cup and the league, this season looks over for us but we can try again next season because we have a great squad. I am longing of getting my first career trophy with Tusker,” he expressed optimism.

Before joining Murang’a SEAL, the midfielder had unsuccessful trials with Bidco United.

Last season, the hearts of Tusker faithfuls were broken when they missed out on winning the title on goal difference, and also lost to Kakamega Homeboyz in the final of the FKF Cup at the Kasarani Stadium at the beginning of July.
