Sports Tribunal declares AFC Leopards deals with Sportpesa, Betway invalid

The Sports Dispute Tribunal has declared the two sponsorship deals entered by factions of the AFC Leopards Interim Management Committee as null and void.

The club has reportedly entered two deals with betting firms Betway and Sportpesa with interim chair Mathew Opwora being the broker of the first deal while his Vice Chair Dan Mule engineered the Sportpesa deal.

The announcement came hours after Opwora unveiled the sponsorship deal with Betway at Nyayo Stadium Tuesday morning.

According to the tribunal head John Ohaga, the deal is a contravention of the agreement binding the interim community saying there should be further consultations on the matter.
