Ex-AFC Leopards strike Allan Wanga joins Tusker FC

Former AFC Leopards and Sofapaka FC striker Alan Wanga has joined Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Tusker FC on a six months deal.

The development ends AFC’s long pursuit of the player which was declared early last month.

The player signed the deal on Friday, July 1st ahead of the closure of the mid-season transfer window that closes on Saturday, July 2nd midnight, confirming his second stint at the club.

“We wanted to sign him but its good he settles where his interest is. We have Paul Mungai Kiongera who we signed midweek and will definitely bolster our striking force,” reacted AFC Team Manager Joseph Milimu.

Wanga joins the Ruaraka-based club from Tanzania’s CECAFA Kagame Cup Champions Azam FC as a free agent after the end of his one-year contract.

Azam signed him in 2015 after ending his contract with Sudanese side Al-Merreikh.

He previously played for Angola’s Petro Atletico, Azerbaijan side FC Baku and Hoàng Anh Gia Lai FC of Vietnam.

Other Tusker’s key signings in the transfer period include Uganda’s Bul FC Hashim Sempla, Robert Omunuk and Muhoroni’s George Mandela.
