Joining Juve the best decision for me Higuain

Gonzalo Higuain believes his decision to sign with Juventus was the best one he could have made for his career.

The Argentine striker scored a record-equalling 36 league goals for Napoli last season and has moved to the Serie A champions for 90 million euros, making him the third most expensive signing ever.

The 28-year-old is determined to show why Juve paid that sort of money for him and he’s aiming to win the treble in his first campaign with the Old Lady.

“As I said, one of the reasons is that in life, one has to take decisions and I thought this was the best one for me. Obviously it wasn’t easy. It’s been a very long day with my family and my friends. It wasnt easy at all to choose. But the fact that the club has this winning mentality was key in my decision and for a footballer is one of the most important things”

“To be honest for me it’s an immense joy to be here. I don’t even realize what has just happened. I hope to enjoy as much as I can with Juve, win as many titles as possible. Now it’s down to me to show why they have paid me that money.”

His arrival has raised questions over Mario Mandzukic’s role in the team, but Higuain insists there won’t be a problem.

He also admits that his favourite player at the club, when he was at Real Madrid, was Alessandro del Piero.

“Not at all. When I joined Real Madrid, there were great centre forwards like Raul and Van Nistelorooy but I never had a problem. At Napoli, also I never had a problem. I can’t see any problem here, but rather it’s the collective that makes a team and not the individual. Mandzukic has welcomed me very well, therefore for me there’s no problem at all.

“This is a difficult question. During my spell at Real Madrid, my favourite Juventus player was Alessandro del Piero, he was very inspiring for me. He was one of the reason why I was watching Juventus.”
