Kakamega High retain title in County games

Former National Schools Champions, Kakamega High, successfully lifted the trophy in the Kakamega County Secondary Schools Sports Association Games finals after beating Butere Boys by 3 goals to nil at the Mumias Sports Complex Stadium Friday afternoon.

Bishop Njenga Girls are the new champions in the girls’ soccer category after beating Butere Girls 5-4 through penalties after they drew 3-3 in normal time at the same venue.

In boys’ volleyball, defending champions Malava Boys retained the trophy after humbling Namulungu Boys by 3 sets to nil in a match staged at Mumias Central Primary School.

In the girls’ volleyball, Mukumu Girls are the new champions after beating Malava Girls 3 sets to nil in a match played at Mumias Central Primary.

Scoring machine Henry Juma claimed a hat-trick in the electrifying finals.

The Champions, famously referred to as Green Commandos, beat Chebuyusi High 3-0 in the semi finals after managing to top their group unbeaten as well as sailing smoothly past quarters when Indangalasia High was disqualified for fielding ineligible players.
