Kenya Police Bullets FC CEO, Oguso confident of title win

Kenya Police Bullets FC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chris Mmbwanga Oguso is confident enough that her charges will win the Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL) title this season.

The law enforcers who are featuring in the Premier League for the first time are are at the summit of the table on 43 points, nine ahead of second placed Vihiga Bullets as Ulinzi Starlets, Kibera Soccer Ladies and Wadadia occupies third to fifth positions in that order with 29, 27 and 19 points.

In an interview with Citizen Digital, Oguso who doubles up as men’s side Kenya Police CEO hailed the determination of the girls team, saying the good performance is due to proper structures rolled out by the club leadership.

“I want to congratulate our girls for making us proud in the league. Being our first time, it hasn’t been easy but the determination and resilience had made us achieve big.

“We are two matches away from clinching the title meaning if we beat Zetech Sparks we will have won it early even before we wrap up our last match against Bunyore Starlets and I believe the girls can achieve it, because we want to make a record of winning it unbeaten.  If we win it we qualify for the Cecafa club championship.”

On what has propelled their success, the CEO says:  “We have done very great signings which has fueled our quest of winning the title.”

Oguso however, believes that they are capable of winning two titles this season including the FKF Women’s Cup where they are already in the semifinals.

“Apart from the league tile, we are eying the FKF Women’s Cup. We are meeting the title holders Ulinzi Starlets but since we defeated them a few weeks ago, we will replicate that in the semis.

“We also have a great coach in Bedine Odemba who has been guiding the team in defeating tough opponents in the league.”
