Nzoia Sugar FC head coach Mike Muiruri remains resolute in his belief that his team will not face relegation, despite languishing at the bottom of the table.

The millers currently occupy the lowest position in Kenyan Premier League table with only 17 points from 27 matches, managing just four wins and suffering 18 defeats.

Speaking to Citizen Digital after his sides' 3-0 loss to Kariobangi sharks on Saturday, the 48-year-old former Vihiga United tactician was confident of ducking relegation, despite seven games left to the end of the current campaign.

''No, we will not (be relegated0. I am a very hardworking coach and I believe in fighting until the end, he shared.

“We still have some matches left to play, and if we can win at least five of the remaining seven fixtures, I believe we will remain in top-flight football,'' Muiruri added.

Reflecting on Saturday's loss, Muiruri lamented the team's failure to create goal-scoring chances and their lack of composure in front of the goal.

"To be honest, we lacked creativity in the game; we didn't create any chances, and that haunts us. We were also not composed in front of goal, and it's yet another drop of points," a somber Muiruri lamented.

The millers face Tusker in their next fixture.
