Sepp Blatter set for CAS hearing
Former FIFA president Sepp Blatter will look to challenge his six-year ban from all football-related activities when he attends a Court of Arbitration for Sport hearing on Thursday.
The Swiss 80-year-old was head of world football’s governing body from 1998 to 2015, but the corruption scandal which engulfed FIFA saw Blatter relinquish his position.
He then received his ban following an ethics investigation which concluded he’d made a two million dollar “disloyal payment” to ex-UEFA boss Michel Platini in 2011.
Both Blatter and Platini deny any wrongdoing.
