Ugandan Khalid Aucho joins South Africas Baroca FC

Uganda Cranes and former Gor Mahia midfielder Khalid Aucho on Thursday penned a three-year undisclosed deal with a newly promoted South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Baroca FC.

The move ends the speculation over his next professional destination after parting ways with K’Ogalo mid season after helping them to two successive Kenyan Premier League titles.

Aucho and his Kenyan agent George Bwana are in South Africa where talks were finalized this morning.

‘’The deal is successful and he has penned a three year deal with Baroca FC. However, he will fly back to Uganda to honor his national team call up for a friendly match against Harambee stars next week,” Bwana told.

Asked about the prayer’s trials with the Scottish Aberdeen FC, the agent said the club management were not impressed by Aucho’s performance and was subsequently released.

Aucho now joins his national team mate Geoffrey Massa who also joined the club this season from PSL side, Bloefontein Celtic.

His absence has been felt since he left Gor Mahia mid season and the player could not be reached for comment.

Bwana  promised to release more details about the deal, but confirmed he was happy that the Ugandan midfielder had finally landed a deal.

‘’Aucho passed both physical and medical tests and he is also happy to join the South African team,” his representative stressed.

Aucho had a three and a half year stint as a professional in Kenya having featured for Tusker FC and Gor.

He joins former Kenyan Premier League mates Brian Mandela and Kevin Kimani among others who also ply their professional trade in the South Africa top-flight league.
