Victor Wanyama reacts to his Spurs debut

Harambee Stars captain, Victor Wanyama, says he is settling in well at his new club, Tottenham Hotspurs.

Wanyama made his debut on Tuesday in the International Champions Cup against Juventus where his team lost 2-1 to the Italian side.

I think it was a tough game, we started off a little bit shaky but as the game progressed, we improved,” said Wanyama.

The Stars captain, who joined Spurs for a reported 11 million Sterling Pounds on a five-year deal, was quick to praise the team spirit at the North London club.

I think everything has been great so far, the lads have been great and I am looking forward to have a good season.”

The former Southampton player was reunited with Mauricio Pochettino, who brought him to the club and earned praise from the team’s manager after his brilliant display.

“Victor was very good on the pitch and I think he played very well. We are looking forward to get more great performances from him,” said the Argentine manager.

Spurs will face Atletico Madrid on July 29th in their next match and the tough tackling midfielder emphasized on the importance of such fixture.

“It’s better for us players to get the experience as we try to have a good season. Atletico is a tough team but hopefully we can recover, come again and show what we can do it,” he insisted.
