Vivian Cheruiyot to double at Rio Olympics after trials victory

Vivian Cheruiyot has announced her intention to double at Rio 2016 Olympics after effortlessly sealing the double with victory at the Kenyan Trials in Eldoret.

Cheruiyot powered away from 2012 World Indoor champion Helen Obiri at the back straight to clinch the win in 15 minutes, 1.60 seconds with Moscow 2013 Worlds silver winner and poster girl, Mercy Cherono filling the podium in third.

The four-time World Champion won the 10000m yesterday to confirm her ticket to Rio and is out to emulate her blistering performance at the Daegu 2011 Worlds where she won gold in 5000m and 10000m.
