Education
Torome Tirike was born on 28 June 1976 at Nairagi-Enkare in Narok North District. He is the fifth born in a family of eight, four boys and four girls. Schooled both his primary and secondary school education in Narok but once dropped out of form one to repeat at standard seven because he wanted to get good grades in KCPE that could have enabled him go to Mangu High School so that he could become a pilot. But he only stayed at standard seven for four days then returned to form one, this time at another school in Mulot Nera Kericho District. He began his journalism career in secondary school where he was the master of ceremony during the district ball games.
He applied for admission at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication using his MOCK results and after maintaining the same grade in KCSE he was admitted and completed a Diploma in Mass Communication.

Career
Torome Tirike was contracted by the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) as a sports producer and Kiswahili football commentator and thereafter joined Royal Media Services in the same capacity.
He acquired more reporting knowledge at the radio Netherlands Training Centre in Hilversum where he was voted the best sports producer and football commentator. He also gained International skills by covering the 2006 FIFA world cup in Germany, World Military Games in Italy in 2003, All Africa Games in Algeria in 2006, Africa Athletics Championships in Addis Ababa Ethiopia in 2007 and the World Cross Country Championships in Mombasa in 2007.
Besides reporting, he is also an official master of ceremony for the Safaricom Lewa International Marathon, a panel member for the Sports Personality of the Year Awards (SOYA), a member of the Athletics Kenya Media Committee. He is also a self-styled Masaai cultural Ambassador where he has represented Africa during the launch of Jordanian Airways in Amman Jordan in 2007.
