Red carpet fashion at the 2015 Groove & Tony Awards: slits, sneakers & boys in bowties
This last weekend was a red carpet affair with the Groove Awards (6th June 2015) and Tony Awards (7th June 2015) recognising the finest talents in the industry. We were all eager to see who would bag the prestigious awards in each award ceremony, but for the fashion lovers, our eyes were set on the red carpet arrivals, to see the most notable looks and styles by our favourite stars.
Notably, both the red carpets spotted similar styles that we loved and could borrow a leaf from
We saw a lot of colour on the two red carpet events. These lovely ladies walked the red carpet wearing beautiful bustier dresses in colourful accents that looked divine with their skin tones.
Different versions of the black maxi dress popped up in the two red carpets this weekend with these lovely ladies opting to flaunt their curves in their figure hugging dresses.
Thigh High Slits
Whether it was a front slit or a side slit, these ladies were not afraid to show some leg with their stunning gowns on the red carpet.
These celebrities decided to break the dress shoe monotony by hitting the red carpet with casual kicks for that less formal look for the red carpet.
Sheer Lacy Sleeves
Lace is clearly a hot trend for the red carpet. These two celebrities looked flawless in their gorgeous white gowns with sheer lacy sleeves allowing them to show off their toned arms.
Style in Black & White
These ladies soaked up the spotlight in simple but striking black and white gowns with matching accessories. The two-toned color scheme is a classic look for the red carpet and these two gowns are evidence of just how chic the black-and-white palette looks.
Boys in Bowties
While all our eyes are usually on what the women are wearing on the red carpet, it was hard not to notice the boys in bowties. The classic bowtie was spotted quite a number of fellaz on the red carpet as the men stepped up their fashion game.
