BASF picks Juliana Rotich to head E.Africa unit

German based chemical manufacturer BASF has appointed Juliana Rotich as the new cluster head for the company’s East African hub.

Ms Rotich is a familiar face at the company, having served as a member of BASF’s global sustainability advisory council up until April this year.

She has headed previous jobs at Novato Africa as a consultant and co-founded the formation of the BRCK non-profit and the tech-based Ushahidi Incorporation.

Speaking after receiving the nod, Ms Rotich expressed excitement on taking up the post.

“I am excited to join BASF and the opportunity it has offered me to grow the company’s footprint in East Africa,” she said.

BASF Africa Vice President Michael Gotsche welcomed the new appointee saying the designation represents the ability of Kenya to churn out quality trailblazers.

“The appointment of Juliana is evidence of the quality of local talent to help spur business growth in Africa. Her role will entail leading the operations in the region focusing on a strategic plan to meet and exceed customer expectations with BASF’s innovative products and solutions,” he said.
