Bitter Fallout In Garissa

Primary school head teachers in Garissa County have reacted angrily to the county governor’s remarks that schools heads who have overstayed in public schools for more than 4 years and whose schools have registered a mean grade of less than 280 marks in KCPE be sacked. The teachers termed the governor’s remarks as ‘reckless and uncalled for’ saying they would not be used as scapegoats to mask the real factors behind the poor performance in the education sector in the county. Garissa governor Nadhif Jamah is however adamant that the move is not meant to threaten teachers but to restructure the education sector in the county.
