Chinese firm eyes regional diaper market with manufacturing plant

A Chinese maker of sanitary products will soon construct a manufacturing plant to produce sanitary towels and diapers in order to meet the growing demands for its products that it imports from the Far East nation.

Sunda International will construct the facility to manufacture its popular products that also include washing products as it expands its operations within Africa to meet rising demand.

Sunda International Managing Director Tony Wu said the company would use the production facility to penetrate the east African market.

Sunda currently imports manufactured brands of diapers, washing powder and sanitary towels.

The local facility is expected to cut costs as demand for its products rises.

“Our market share is increasing and they (customers) feel that China products not only have a good price but also have good quality,” Mr Wu said.

Sunda manufactures products such as Soft Care, Cutie and Kleesoft.
