Eight businesses at Garden City Mall face auction

Eight businesses at the Garden City Mall are now facing the auctioneers hammer.

In a notice dated July 15 and published as Gazette Notice 5425 by Maduwande Auctioneers, the landlord at the mall has planned to dispose the stock and and equipment owned by the entities on August 19.

Among the affected businesses include an African attire clothing store, a shoe store, a restaurant and a nail bar.

According to the management of the Mall located on Thika Road, the some of the businesses were abandoned while the rest were closed by legal processes initiated over 12 months ago.

Subsequently, the spaces occupied by the defunct businesses have attracted interest from new clients, forcing the landlord’s hand in clearing out the respective stores.

“Garden City Mall secured new interest in these shops, and the reason for the action is to have the shops cleared out, cleaned, and prepared for potential new tenants to take occupation of these shops as soon as possible,” Garden City Mall General Manager Kobus Visser said.
