ERC Announces New Fuel Prices

ERC says the new prices are a result of a rise in average imported refined petroleum costs and will be applicable in major towns from midnight tonight till 14th May.

The commission has further warned anyone found retailing petroleum products above the stipulated prices will be liable to a fine not exceeding Sh1 million or risk losing their operating license or both.

The new price structure will see Super Petrol retail at Sh89.35, Diesel at Sh77.48 and Kerosene at Sh57.21 here in Nairobi.

In Mombasa Super will retail at Sh86.04, Diesel at Sh74.21 and Kerosene at Sh54.49.

In a statement to newsrooms, ERC assured the public of its continued commitment in ensuring that fair competition is maintained as well as protection of both the consumers and investors in the energy sector.

ERC further urged the public to be vigilant and report any non-compliant retailer for legal action.
