Flooding knocks off power in parts of Nairobi

Heavy flooding overnight has cut off power in parts of Nairobi.

The areas off supply include Nairobi West, South C, parts of Langata Road and Mbagathi Way, Dam Estate, Civil Servants Estate, Five Star Estate and Parts of Lower Hill.

Utility company Kenya Power says its Nairobi substation has been flooded after the Nairobi Dam bursts its banks on Thursday night.

“We would like to assure affected customers that restoration work is currently in progress and our teams are working round the clock to restore supply as soon as possible,” Kenya Power stated in a customer alert sent out on Friday morning.
