4 petrol stations in Nairobi, Mombasa, Homa Bay & Samburu blacklisted

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority has blacklisted four petrol stations in Nairobi, Mombasa, Homa Bay and Samburu.

In a statement released on Tuesday, EPRA said 4,392 tests were conducted between October and December at 882 petroleum sites.

“99.54% of the sites were found to be compliant. However, four (4) sites were found to be non-compliant,” the authority said.

They are:

  • Kangundo Road illegal site in Embakasi, Nairobi
  • Daniel Adera Filling Station in Mirogi, Homa Bay
  • Jupiter Filling Station in Wambu, Samburu
  • Gateway inn Filling Station in Miritini, Mombasa

Officials from the Embakasi site were arraigned in court and charged as per the Energy (Retail Facility Construction and Licensing) Regulations 2013 Act.

The other three stations have since been shut down.

“The Authority urges members of the public to stay vigilant and to report suspected cases of non – compliance through enforcement@epra.go.ke or hotline 0708 444 000,” EPRA said.
