Goldenscape Group rolls out Ksh.1.6 billion housing plan

Goldenscape Greenhouses and Silverstone properties on Wednesday launched a real estate investment of Ksh.1.65 billion to their existing greenhouse investors dubbed Amal Haven investments.

This will see investors get a chance to own a home by only contributing 85% capital of the house through rollovers from their agribusiness returns and pay in flexible installments to own homes, situated in Nairobi, Kajiado, Nakuru, Laikipia and Nyandarua counties for a start.

“This a sign of appreciating our investors even the ones who have invested in 1 greenhouse as we understand that they would want to own a home but possibly they can’t at the moment. This plan allows them to own a home with flexible payments terms through Silverstone Properties Limited,” said the Group Chairman and CEO Peter Wangai.

The housing plan will comprise of low cost housing, middle cost housing and high end housing to cater for the company diverse clientele in different towns in the country.

This comes in as the government is championing for low affordable housing as one of President Kenyatta’s Big Four  agenda.

“This 15% off any unit our investor purchases is very possible with the right planning and right approach. Sometimes its not about the money but the humanity and legacy we leave as Goldenscape for generations to come. We are not refuting there is minimum profit in this venture, the margins are small but as I mention earlier it’s about the little things we do to put a smile on our investors faces,” said Mr. Wangai.

Asked how the plan will be rolled out and the model of the houses, Mr. Wangai was quick to mention that the current investors will roll out their returns on investment from their greenhouses and will be required to top up some amount every year depending on the investment the investor will choose.

“They are also encouraged to have some monthly saving in the company sacco, Goldenscape Sacco, where they will be given loans 3 times their savings and pay in flexible payments terms .The houses will be apartments, townhouses, villas, bungalows, mansionettes just to mention a few,” he added.

Goldenscape Greenhouses is the first company in Kenya to introduce lease a greenhouse concept where investors with no land can invest and they get their returns on investments after every 6 months for 3 years.

Silverstone Properties on the other hand deals with property sale, property development, property management, property leasing.
